Pharmacist In Charge
Reports To: Regional Director of Operations – South Central
FSL Status: Exempt

The following job description is only the primary means by which this will be accomplished.
Position Summary: The Pharmacist In Charge will ensure the adherence of the pharmacy procedures and SOPs. In accordance with company laws, state and federal regulations. The Pharmacist In Charge will ensure regulations are correct and safe supply of medical products to the client facilities, under the general supervision of the Regional Director of Pharmacy.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Supervise all pharmacy staff to ensure efficient daily operations
- Uphold compliance with all applicable state and federal pharmacy regulations
- Support training and onboarding of new staff
- Implement new policies, procedures and monitor their effectiveness across the team
- Develop and maintain staffing schedules for pharmacists and technicians based on operational needs
- Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions and proper administration
- Oversee dispensed medications are correctly supplied and labeled
- Supervise the preparation of any medicines
- Make recommendations for therapy changes to the physician and client facilities staff, if necessary
- Maintain customers’ database including but not limited to medical history, clinical, laboratory data, etc.
- Investigate and resolve medication related queries
- Communicate with facilities’ nursing staff, physicians and other healthcare team members regarding medication-related queries
- Maintain a register of controlled drugs for legal and stock control purposes
- Maintain proper security conditions for medications
- Perform “on-call” duties when required
Education, Knowledge and Skills:
- Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Texas
- 5-10 years of experience in Hospital and Retail pharmacy or other medical fields
- Long Term Care experience preferred
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Computer skills
- Framework / ECM software knowledge a plus
