Billing Specialist
40 hours per week M-F 8-430pm (flexible with start time)
Fairlawn, OH (across from Summit Mall)
SUMMARY OF POSITION
In accordance with the mission and values of The Village of St. Edward, the Billing Specialist will be primarily responsible for generating resident billings, follow-up on outstanding balances and processing cash receipts in an accurate and timely manner.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities (not an all-inclusive list):
Review and process new resident information including security deposits, resident status reports and census information in the computer system.
Monitor status of Medicaid applications and follow-up on responsible areas in a timely manner.
Process daily census in a timely and accurate basis.
Prepare all required monthly census reports in a timely and accurate manner, including number of days by payor type and admission and discharge summaries.
Generate monthly resident billings for assigned facilities applying correct policies and reflecting accurate charges and payments on a timely basis.
Generate monthly resident billings for all Medicare, Managed Care, and/or Medicaid residents, including the monthly billing to the State of Ohio, reflecting accurate charges, correct Medicaid rates, resident liability amounts and ancillary charges. It also includes submitting and processing 9401s in a timely manner.
Record and deposit cash receipts timely including preparing supporting documentation and coding with the appropriate account numbers and charge month(s).
Monitor resident accounts receivable balances on a monthly basis and follows-up timely with any past due accounts. This includes informing supervisors of problem accounts in a timely manner.
Handle Residents’ personal allowance funds, including recording monthly activity, monitoring funds for allowable balances, distributing quarterly statements and generate required letters, as necessary.
Analyze specific general ledger accounts, as necessary.
Assist in preparation of the annual audit.
Supports the Village’s commitment to quality customer serviceMaintains employee confidence, protects payroll data, and safeguards the Organization by keeping sensitive employee, payroll, and human resources information confidential.
Exhibits professional conduct and demonstrates company values through all interactions with employees, visitors, and external vendors
Supports the philosophy of person centered care (PCC) by actively participating in the person centered care process. Fosters development and enhancement of person centered care practices.
Perform such other duties as may be regularly or specifically assigned

Requirements
Requirements:
High school education with minimum 3-5 years experience in bookkeeping, including billing and accounts receivable.
Experience with word processing and financial applications required, including Word and EXCEL.
Experience in a long term care environment is preferred.
Experience with Point Click Care is preferred.
Must have reliable transportation.
Must pass a pre-employment physical
Possess the necessary dexterity to operate office equipment, calculators, computers, etc.
Possess the ability to bend, stoop and reach at different angles.
Walks, stands and sits intermittently during the day.
